King David pleased God so well that God called him
a man after His heart. If you study carefully the life
of King David, it wasn't necessarily because he was
perfect that pleased God, but the fact that he was
sincere and tender-hearted towards God, and was
always willing to take responsibility, repent and make
amends any time he made mistakes.

Scripture:- Psalm 89:20-24
"
I have found My servant David; with My holy oil
I have anointed him, with whom My hand shall be
established; Also My arm shall strengthen him. The
enemy shall not outwit him, nor the son of wickedness
afflict him. I will beat down his foes before his face, and
plague those who hate him. But My faithfulness and My
mercy shall be with him, and in My name his horn shall
be exalted." (NKJV.)
COMMENTARY/MEDITATION
Beloved, God's covenant with David extends to us by virtue
of our sonship predicated on the death of Christ on the cross
for the sins of mankind. As David found special favor with God,
we also enjoy special favor with God, and are the righteousness
of God in Christ Jesus, on account of what Jesus did for us at
Calvary. David had an indepth understanding of God's love and
mercy, so he never dwelt on his mistakes but focused on God's
love and his strength, and consequently was able to accomplish
much for God.
